Your Academia account includes several groups of settings that let you customize your experience, like your profile name, email notifications, social settings, privacy options, and even delete your account. This article provides an overview of the settings available to you.
How to access your account settings
You can access your account settings from anywhere on Academia by clicking your profile photo in the top right-hand corner of the page and selecting "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu. Or, click here to access your account settings.
All account settings
In your account settings, you'll see several tabs on the left side of the page. Click a tab to access different groups of account settings, including:
Account Settings (general) - Update your name, email address, password, profile information, and other basic account details. Or, delete your account.
Email Notifications - Choose which updates and notifications you receive by email, including new followers, paper views, and recommendations.
Language Settings - Set your preferred language for the Academia interface.
Social Profiles - Connect your Academia profile to social networking sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Privacy Settings - Control who can see your profile, papers, and activity on Academia.
Blocking and Reporting - Manage blocked users and report inappropriate content or behavior.
AI Settings - Choose if you want to disable AI. Opting out will remove features like AI podcasts.
Premium member settings
If you're an Academia Premium member, you'll also have access to these additional features:
Personal Website - Create and customize your own personal website hosted by Academia.
Premium Subscription - Manage your Premium subscription, billing information, and membership benefits.
