While Academia is designed to be a way to spread knowledge, you have several ways to control the privacy of your Academia profile and activity in your Privacy Settings. Click the "Save" button below any settings you've changed to finalize them.
Below is a list of the privacy options you can change on your profile.
Analytics
- Hide my name and affiliation in authors' analytics: Academia Premium users can see who has viewed their papers. If you don't want our Academia Premium users to see when you view their papers, you can make yourself anonymous by clicking "Hide my name and affiliation in authors' analytics."
- Make my Analytics public: Your analytics are private by default. Checking this box will make them public. If you have made your analytics public and would like to make them private again, uncheck this box.
Premium Badge (Premium only)
- Display my Academia Premium badge: Displays an insignia
next to your name that shows others you're an Academia Premium member. Checking this box will display this badge next to your name for all to see. Very stylish.
Papers you've Bookmarked
- Publicly save to your Bookmarks: You can When you download a paper, it is automatically bookmarked so you can easily return to it on the site. If you no longer want other your followers to see what papers you're downloading or bookmarking, you can uncheck this box.
Co-authors
Academia provides a number of options regarding how you interact with co-authors on your published papers. Feel free to adjust them as you see fit.
