If you need to update the card (or other payment method) used for Academia Premium, you can do it from your account settings.
Update your payment method
- Go to your Account Settings page.
- Select Premium subscription.
- Under your current payment details, select Change.
- Enter your payment details, then click Update Payment Method.
If you have a payment that is past due, the amount due will be processed immediately upon saving.
Add a new credit or debit card
To use a new card:
- Select Card at the top.
- Enter your updated payment details.
- Click Update Payment Method to save the change.
Add your bank account details
To use your bank account details:
- Select the bank option provided at the top if one is available.
- Enter your bank's details.
- Click Update Payment Method to save the change.
Retry a payment
If your payment failed, we'll automatically retry it after a couple of days provided your subscription is still active.
If you’d rather retry right away, follow the steps above to open Premium subscription, then select Change and re-enter your payment method (or add a new one). Click Update Payment Method to submit the payment again.
Switch to a different payment method
You can’t switch an active subscription from one payment method to another To use a different payment method, turn off auto-renew and wait until your Premium benefits end. You can then upgrade again using your preferred payment method. View supported payment methods.
- Go to your Academia Premium settings.
- Select Cancel auto-renew.
- Select Continue to cancel.
After you cancel, make sure you:
- See an on-screen confirmation message.
- Receive a cancellation email.
Without confirmation, your subscription may still renew.
If you don’t see a Premium subscription
You may be logged in to a different account that doesn’t have an active Premium subscription.
- From the left sidebar, select Account settings.
- Confirm the email address matches the account you used for Premium.
- If it doesn’t match, log out and sign in with the correct email address, then check Premium subscription again.
