Adding complete citation information to your papers (or other academic works) helps other researchers properly and comprehensively cite your work. Beyond the basic fields shown on the paper editing page, Academia allows you to include additional citation details such as:
- Journal Name
- Publication Date
- Location (i.e. a conference, talk, or event location)
- Organization
- Start Hour & End Hour (i.e. the time when your event started and ended)
- Event Date
- Conference Start Date & Conference End Date
How to add Additional Information
To edit the citation details of a paper you've uploaded to Academia:
- Click the Edit button to open the paper editing page. You can do this by clicking "Edit" under the paper title on your profile.
-
Select Additional Information to reveal hidden fields.
- Click Save in the top right corner when you're finished!
Can't find a specific citation field?
You can use the "More Info" field to add other citation details. Examples of what you can add include acknowledgements, co-authors (who don't have an Academia account), or translator/editor information.
