The Personal Website is included with an Academia Premium subscription, but it won't be visible to anyone by default. You can make your website visible in the Personal website settings of your Academia account.
How to get a personal website
You can sign up for Academia Premium any time if you're interested in having a personal website. To sign up:
- Go to the checkout page to upgrade.
- Click "Preview Your Personal Website" on the email you received, then on the preview page, click "Activate" or "Learn More."
Make your personal website public
- Go to your Account Settings.
- Click Personal website.
- Click the toggle so that the setting changes from Private to Public.
The first time you make your website public, you'll lock in your personal website URL.
Make your website private again
Go to Account Settings → Personal website, then click the Public toggle to make your website Private again. Your personal website will no longer be visible, and no one will be able to see it. Your profile, on the other hand, will still be public.
Preview your website before making it live
If you want to see what your website looks like before unveiling it to the world, click the Preview your Personal Website button below the toggle button.
