The title of your paper will be the first thing that a user sees. It's important to have a clear and concise title for your paper, and that the title on Academia matches the title of the paper as it appears found elsewhere on the internet or printed journals. The title that you pick will also show up in the URL/link of the paper.
📝 Note: If you edit the title of the paper, the updated title will appear in the URL of the paper. Your old links will still work, even if you change your paper's title. There's no need to go back and update them.
To edit the title of your paper:
- Go to your profile.
- Click Edit under the paper you wish to change the title on.
- On the paper-editing page, change the title of the paper in the "Paper Title" box.
You can enter any title name you want, but the best practice is to use the same title as whats on your paper. - Once you've settled on a title, click Save in the top right-hand corner!
Troubleshooting
I got a "Something Went Wrong!" message!
Try removing non-Latin alphabet characters, or make your title shorter. If you are adding the full citation into the title, you can put that data in the "More Info" box, which allows for full citation information.
What is the max title length of an Academia title?
300 characters!
