How to block (or unblock) a user

If you want to prevent someone from following you or viewing your profile, you can block them from your account settings.

• You can block by name or by profile URL.
• Blocked people will appear in your Blocked list.

Block a user

1. Click on your profile icon and name at the top, then select Account Settings.
   
2. Select Blocking and Reporting.
   
3. In the search box, start typing the person’s name or paste their profile URL.
   
4. When the correct person appears in the list, select their name.
5. That user is now blocked! They will show up in your blocked list.

Unblock a user

1. Go to Account Settings → Blocking and Reporting.
2. Find the person in your blocked list.
3. Select Blocked next to their name to unblock them.

If you cannot find the person to block

If the person does not appear in the blocking list, let us know!

Submit a request and include:

• A link to your Academia profile
• The profile URL of the person you want to block
