An Academia Premium subscription unlocks the full power of your Analytics dashboard, giving you deeper insights into your audience and research impact. Review the guide below to see how a Premium subscription enhances your analytics tools:
Profile Overview
On the Overview page (your default analytics page), you’ll see additional details in your analytics table—including the university and role of people viewing your pages and profile, and the number of pages read for your paper.
We may not always have this information, but if it's available, we'll show it here.
Profile Visitors
Premium users have full access to the demographic information of any Academia users who viewed their profile.
Impact reports for papers
Your Impact Report is available to all Academia accounts. You can find it by clicking Impact in the top Analytics navigation bar.
With Premium, you can click the Impact button next to any of your papers to see how they are performing individually and how they compare to similar papers on Academia.
To see detailed analytics for a specific paper:
- In Analytics, click Papers.
- Scroll to the paper you want.
- Click Impact.
In this area, you may see:
- Views by city, country, affiliation, and research field
- Where viewers came from
- How much of your paper they read on Academia
You can export Impact data to share your reach and impact. For example, in a job application, tenure review, or grant application.
To learn what each section means, see our support article on Impact.
Readers
Academia Premium members have full access to Readers, showing you who has interacted with your work. You can access your readers by clicking your name in the top right-hand corner, then selecting "Readers." To learn more about readers, head to our help page.
CV Analytics
CV analytics, like regular paper analytics, are available as part of an Academia Premium subscription. Keep in mind that you must have a CV uploaded into the CV area of the profile. If no one has viewed your CV, we'll tell you that instead.
Keywords
A large amount of traffic on Academia comes from people searching keywords, research interests, or title excerpts. On the Keywords page, you’ll see:
- When the search happened
- Your paper’s rank in the search results (for example, 2 means it appeared second)
- Which paper appeared in the results
- The search term that was used (included with Premium)
Academia Premium unlocks the search terms that people used to find your documents. This means you can find out what any Academia member entered for us to show your paper to them. We recommend using these terms to learn what words other scholars are typing into search engines. These keywords may help more researchers find your works.
Keep in mind that these searches are entered in by other Academia users using the site, not by Academia.
