Academia Premium gives you additional ways to refine your recommendations on top of the free options already available. With Premium, you can use filters to narrow your results by peer-review status, language, date range, and document format. To update your filters, go to your recommendations page.
Open your recommendations page
Click Tools in the navigation bar at the top of the page, then click Improve your recommendations.
This will open a page with two sections:
- A customizable set of filters, exclusive to Academia Premium
- Your reading history, which includes a list of papers you've read on Academia
💡 Tip: The checkboxes in your reading history indicate which papers Academia can use to influence your recommended paper algorithm. You can uncheck the box next to a paper to have Academia stop using that paper.
Filter your recommendations
Here’s a full list of preferences available on this page. These filters apply when Academia has enough information to identify the paper’s details, such as its language, publication date, or format.
- Peer-Reviewed: Choose whether to include papers Academia knows were peer-reviewed. We may not know the review status of all documents on the site.
- Language: Select the languages you want included in your recommendations. To remove a language, click the X next to it.
- Date Range: Choose a publication date range for recommended papers.
- Format: Select the types of research you want to see, such as articles, conference papers, or other available formats. We'll only send you documents if we were able to confidently identify their format.
