If you've ever searched for a paper, researcher, or a research interest on Academia, you may have found that there are simply too many search results. To solve that problem, we've added Search Filters to help narrow your results. You can filter results by date range, publication type, and language.
Search Filters are available with Academia Premium.
How to use Search Filters
- Do a search on any topic, title, researcher, or research interest.
- Press Enter or select View all results.
- On the search results page, use the filters in the left sidebar.
- Select the filter you want to apply.
Available search filters
You can filter your results using any of these three options:
- Date range limits results to papers published during a specific time period.
- Publication type narrows results by document type, such as books, journal articles, or peer-reviewed papers.
- Language shows papers in a specific language.
Date Range
For any paper we know the publication date on, we'll show that paper in any search range you like. You can make this as recent as possible to stay cutting edge, or you may be interested in a specific area or time of research, based on your area of study. Both options are option!
Publication Type
Only looking for books? Interested primarily in scholarly journals? Only want documents that have been peer reviewed? Narrowing your publication type will keep your search in the range you're looking for!
Language
If you find that most of the research in your area is in one area and your language expertise is in another, you can use this feature to narrow down the language of the papers we'll display.
Need to upgrade?
