Logging out of your account is important, but it's also easy! You should log out of your Academia.edu account if you logged in on a device you share with others (i.e., a computer at a library).
To find the "Log Out" button and log out of your Academia.edu account, follow these instructions:
- In your browser's search bar, go to Academia.edu.
- Click on your name and profile photo at the top-right corner of your screen to make a dropdown menu appear.
- You'll be presented with several options related to your account. Click "Log Out" to begin the process of safely signing out of your account.

You can confirm you're logged out by going to the Academia home page. If you're presented with a newsfeed, you have not logged out.
