As of September 11, 2025, Academia.edu has ended login with Facebook support. You can continue to log in to your Academia.edu account with your email address and password.
How do I log in without Facebook?
If you previously used a Facebook login to access Academia.edu, use the email address registered to your Academia account to log in instead, and enter your password. Your Academia account may be registered to the same email address associated with your Facebook account.
If you haven't set a password before, or you forgot your password:

Reset your password.
- Go to our password reset page.
- Enter the email address associated with your Academia account or your Facebook account. We'll send you a password reset email.
- Follow the instructions in the email to create a new password.

Log in with your email and new password.
- Once you've created your password, you can log in as usual.
- Your account and all your information will be just as you left it.
If you do not receive your password reset email, or your email address doesn't exist, let us know and we can help you out.

If you can't log in and you tried the email associated with your Facebook account, contact us to recover your account.
Can I log in with Google or Apple?
Yes. If you've set up a Google or Apple ID sign-in on your Academia account previously, you may log in with either of those methods instead. Academia.edu will continue to support Google and Apple ID logins. There are no plans to end support for these login methods.
Can I still use Facebook to log in?
If you try logging in with your Facebook account, you'll see the following error message, requiring you to reset your password.
