You can export your analytics data from Academia.edu to review it offline, save it for your personal reference, or import it into a spreadsheet like Excel or Google Sheets. When it's ready, you can download your analytics data from the exports page.
Create an export of your analytics data
- Log in to Academia.edu.
- Click on your name and photo to open the account menu.
- Select Analytics. (If you're a free user, select Basic Analytics instead.)
- On the Analytics page, press the Download
button.
- Click Generate a new CSV.
Download your analytics data
Most CSV exports are ready in a few minutes. You'll get an email when your CSV is ready, or you can refresh the page to see if the download is ready.
When the export is ready, select Download from the list. The file name stored on your computer will start with "Academia.edu - Analytics Export".
Troubleshooting
Your export isn't ready to download
Large analytics data may take longer to export. Wait a few minutes, then refresh the exports page.
The file will not download
- Try a different browser.
- Disable browser extensions that block downloads, then try again.
- Download the export as a .txt file. Right-click the Download link and select Save Link As to download it as a .txt file. You may need to change the file extension manually to do this.
The export is incomplete or missing data
Your export includes all-time data we keep long-term (like dates and pages viewed). It won’t include short-term metrics like 30-Day Visitors because it’s a rolling date range—we don’t store that data long enough for it to appear in exports.
