You can view an extraordinary amount of information about how students, researchers, and academics view your profile and your papers by reviewing your Academia analytics.
You can view the analytics associated with your account for the past 30 days or the past 60 days. Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer analytics information past 60 days. You can also export your data as a CSV.
The top of your analytics page will display an overview of users who have viewed your profile and papers.
- Profile views indicate the amount of times your profile has been viewed.
- Paper views indicate the amount of times all of your papers have been viewed.
- Unique visitors is how many individual people have visited your papers OR your profile. This differs from profile or paper views because one unique visitor could visit multiple papers or view your profile more than once.
The bottom of your analytics page will display a chart has five columns that describe the activity relating to your papers and your profile.
The colored bars indicate a "unique visitor." This is one person looking at the different parts of your Academia collection - maybe first viewing your profile, then going to one paper, then to another. Each unique visitor will have a different colored bar.
The page indicates which part of your Academia portfolio a visitor went to. Usually, this should say "profile" (indicating your profile) or the name of one of your papers.
The referring site is the last page the user was on before they accessed your profile. While we can't always gather this information, we always do the best we can.
The city indicates the city where your visitor is located. We can't always gather this information, we'll display it whenever we are able.
The country indicates the country where your visitor is located. We can't always gather this information, but we'll display it whenever we are able.
If you are a part of our Academia Premium service, you will see two additional columns: University and Role. If you're interested in being a part of our Academia Premium service, it's easy to sign up!
