At Academia, we want to make sure we show you interesting papers to read, posts to engage in, and people to follow. If we're missing the mark, this guide will show you how to review your recommendation data, remove irrelevant "seeds", and tell Academia exactly what you want to see.
How Academia personalizes content for you
Academia curates your news feed and the papers we think you'll enjoy reading based on a variety of things, like the papers you've read, your Research Interests, who you follow, and the papers you've uploaded (if you've uploaded any).
- Papers you've viewed or bookmarked: When you view your download a paper, this signals to us that you're interested in reading papers like this one, and we'll show you more papers like it.
- Research Interests on your profile: Your Research Interests indicate to us that you'd like to read papers about these interests, or network with others in those fields.
- People you follow: Your feed prioritizes updates and uploads of people you follow.
- Papers you've uploaded or co-authored: Any documents you've uploaded or co-authored will be used to show you more content relevant to your research topics. This is a great way for us to understand what kind of research you're interested in and who you want to engage with.
