All free users can download the full version of the text that was uploaded to Academia for free.
This means that if the author has only added a cover page, you only get a cover page when you download. This also means that if the author has only added a five page introduction of a forty page document, downloading this document will only get you those five pages. If a person has only posted a small amount of their document, Academia does not have access to the full document in any way. We typically recommend you contact the uploader to see if they can share the full document with you.
Upgrading to Academia Premium will not give you access to any documents you can not already download for free. All documents on Academia are 100% free to download in their entirety. If your download is incomplete, that means the version of the document we have is incomplete, and upgrading to Academia Premium will not unlock any different versions of the document other than the one you have downloaded.
To download a single paper, select "Download PDF," then select "No thanks, I just want to stay on the free tier," "Just this PDF," or any similar language. If you enter in your payment method or any other kind of subscription confirmation, we will bill you. You do not need to pay anything to download a single paper.
