Your profile photo appears at the top of your profile and next to your name on papers you co-author. If you created your account using Facebook or Google, we might import your account's profile photo to Academia. You can upload a new photo or delete your photo at any time.
Upload a new profile photo
Head to your profile page to upload a new profile photo. If you're not sure how to get there, see how to access your profile.
From your profile page, you can click on your profile photo (A) to upload a new photo, or click "Edit profile" (B) to open the profile editing page.
📷 Photo requirements & suggestions
- Size: 200 × 200 pixels
- File size: Under 1.5 MB
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Tip: A square image works best
From your profile photo:
- Click on your profile photo.
- A pop-in window titled "Edit Profile Picture" will appear.
- Click the big Upload button on this window.
- Select a new photo.
- Click Open.
From your profile editing page:
- Click Edit profile.
- Click Edit Photo in the "Photo & name" section.
- Select a new photo.
- Click Open.
- Click Save Edits to confirm your masterpiece.
Delete your profile photo
From your profile page, click on your profile photo, then click the little trash can next to your photo.
Troubleshooting
My profile photo is not uploading correctly
Try uploading a square image.
I see a “Something went wrong!” error
Try restarting your browser. If the issue continues, try a different browser or restart your computer.
