Is there a way to hide my Academia browsing activity?
Sometimes you might not want Academia users to see that you're viewing their profiles or reading their papers. That's okay! If you turn on our privacy feature, even Academia Premium users will only be able to see a limited amount of data about you.
If you want to turn this on at any time, you can always do so in your privacy settings. To access your privacy settings, click here to go to your account settings, or select "account settings" in the drop-down when you click on your profile photo.
Your general account settings will appear, with a left-side navigational bar that you can use to navigate around your settings. To access this option, click "Privacy Settings."
This will bring up all of your privacy settings on Academia. If you want to change this setting, select the checkbox next to "Hide my name and affiliation in authors' analytics." Then click save!
Your data will now be hidden when browsing Academia. We will show a reader card indicating a visit occurred, but we won't tell anything about other than what we would regularly display in basic analytics, such as location.
