To cancel your Premium subscription, go to your Account Settings. You can access this by hovering over your profile photo and selecting "Account Settings," or you can click this link: https://www.academia.edu/settings. Once you're on your account settings, click "Premium Subscription in the left sidebar.
If you don't see this text, you don't have an Academia Premium subscription. If you were charged for an Academia Premium subscription, but you don't see the Premium Subscription sidebar, please contact us immediately and we'll sort it out for you. Providing the last four digits and expiration date of the card you paid with will be helpful.
If you do see your Premium Subscription settings, click there. Then, click "cancel auto-renewal."
It will bring to this page, which will remind you of the great features you're losing.
If you're still sure you want to cancel, select "continue to cancel." Wait until the page loads - this can take a minute.
Then, please select a reason why you are cancelling your Academia Premium subscription or any other feedback you might have, then click the red "unsubscribe" button again.
Your auto-renewal will now be cancelled and your Premium Subscription page will change to show the last date that you have Academia Premium benefits. What this means is that after your current Academia Premium subscription period, your benefits will lapse, and you won't be charged again.
